Lockmaster 24 Hour Repair multipoint door lock with 35mm backset and 92/62mm centres. Ideal temporary repair solution for uPVC, composite and timber doors
Lockmaster 24 Hour Repair multipoint door lock with 35mm backset and 92/62mm centres. Ideal temporary repair solution for uPVC, composite and timber doors
The Lockmaster 24 Hour Repair door lock is specifically designed to act as a temporary fix for a broken multipoint door lock where immediate security and door function are required. This low security repair lock is a practical and effective alternative to leaving a door unsecured, making it ideal for use as a 24-hour repair solution until you can source a full replacement multipoint lock or carry out repairs to your existing locking system. The lock features a single deadbolt within the centre case, providing basic security while allowing the door to operate correctly during this interim period.
Manufactured by Lockmaster, this unit has been cut down to create a dedicated temporary repair lock. As a result, it only includes the centre gearbox and does not feature additional locking points or hooks, keeping installation quick and straightforward when time is critical. The lock box is to be positioned centrally and operates using a lift lever mechanism, ensuring familiar operation for both installers and end users.
This multipoint door lock has a dual spindle, with 92/62mm (PZ) centres, making it compatible with a wide range of existing door handle setups. It has a 35mm backset measurement and is designed to accept a Euro cylinder, allowing the cylinder to be replaced if required during installation. The lock has a 16mm square end faceplate and has an overall length of 240mm, ensuring a neat fit within uPVC, composite and timber door profiles.
For emergency locksmiths, this 24-hour repair lock is an essential product to keep in the van for out of hours call-outs and urgent repairs. Its versatility, common sizing and quick-fit design make it an invaluable solution when a customer needs their door secured immediately without waiting for a full multipoint lock replacement.
To maintain smooth operation of the centre gearbox and internal components, light lubrication is recommended during fitting and periodic use. Applying a suitable product such as GT85 to the gearbox can help reduce wear and improve lever action.
When replacing or temporarily upgrading a multipoint door lock, it is also an ideal opportunity to consider additional hardware improvements. Upgrading the door cylinder to a high security 3 star Euro cylinder can significantly enhance protection against snapping and forced entry, while replacing worn or dated door handles at the same time can transform the appearance of the door and ensure reliable operation.
